Yeah as much as I like the idea of mastodon, it has a higher barrier of entry compared to bluesky :( still glad it exists though

I never really found a home on Mastodon. I would find a lovely place and then it would get shit down. Or people would just stop talking. I loved the idea, but even for a techie the barriers were just too great. Working OAuth support would have reduced that a ton, but also defeated the purpose.
