The trio of nightmares known as "the Spawn of Runemaro". A purple lanky nightmare with straps around his torso and arms is Skir (he/him). The blue one with a note shaped head is Lyric (she/her). The orange one with multiple mouths around his body is Craving (he/him). Above the trio is the looming spirit of Runemaro, the Nightmare King. Symbolizing his presence of being dead in this point in the story, but still a figure of significance to the siblings.
I already had faith in it seeing the trailer, I haven't played but ten minutes of the original game but they feel like different appropriate experiences of the same premise. Some folks may not care for the pacing of it's runtime with the simple premise but I feel the tension built by the acting, cinematography, and overall production worked well. I let myself just feel my reactions of the film. My only complaint I'll be vague on but while I like expanding on the convict's past somewhat, but I feel we could have been more vague and not done these flashes of the inciting incident of why he's in the Iron Lung. It's never shown but the way its talked about I think could have been less explicit and more to audience interpretation. I like thinking this is Mark and Szymanski making an iteration for the film but oh well
