What happens next? While this is a moment to be celebrated, this is the beginning of a process not the end. Over the coming weeks and months, we will carefully review the legislation to ensure it is robust, effective, and puts an end to conversion practices once and for all.
Conversion practices have caused lasting harm to too many LGBTQ+ people. We're proud to have led the campaign to ban conversion practices, working tirelessly over the past six years to get to this stage.

Jay Stewart to step down as GI CEO. After an incredible 17 years, Gendered Intelligence's CEO and co-founder, Jay Stewart, will be moving on in June 2027. Jay has played a huge role in shaping the organisation into one of the UK’s leading trans-led charities. We will be so sad to see him go next year, and wish him so much success for what comes next.
What GI is doing: We’ll publish revised guidance for services and public functions on how to keep including trans people while minimising risk We’ll create guidance for our communities on staying safe and keeping connected We’re demanding that the government step in to sort out the mess they’ve created. It will be a long journey, but we will keep pushing for change until we have fair and equal treatment of trans people in all areas of life.

The amended EHRC Code of Practice has been released today. This is a document that interprets the Equality Act. It has been revised since last summer, following the judgement in For Women Scot v Scottish Government. We know that the first draft of the new Code of Practice was cruel, inhumane, and discriminatory towards trans people. We campaigned for that draft to be rejected and demanded that any new version should be one that fully considered and guaranteed the human rights of all trans...
