Do you want to get your tenancy deposit back quickly the next time you move?
Your deposit must be protected by a government-approved scheme, but in England and Wales many landlords and letting agents can hang on to the money themselves, meaning it’s not even that safe.
Even worse, unscrupulous landlords can use a range of tricks to hold your money hostage – exaggerating claims, refusing to use the scheme’s arbitration process or simply not responding to emails.
This results in lots of renters ending up with less than they’re entitled to – after the stress of moving home.
And the worst landlords are the ones who benefit.
Right now the government is redesigning the deposit protection system.
This is our chance to get a better deal – and get more of our money back every time we move.
Sign our petition to make sure our money is held safely in a scheme, landlords return our money quickly if they are not claiming for it, and fine landlords who make fake claims.

At a £15,000 cost cap with no exemptions, fewer than 200,000 households would be in fuel poverty. At a £10,000 cost cap with no exemptions, 300,000 would be in fuel poverty. Under the government plans, with a £10,000 cap and a suite of additional exemptions, nearly 600,000 households would remain in fuel poverty.
