Our commitment is to make these subjects accessible and enjoyable in all their forms, continuing beyond 16. 2. Fair Funding and Support We advocate for coherent, equitable funding across pre- and post-16 education — including a 16–19 Student Premium — to help close the disadvantage gap by age 19. 3. Professional Development for FE Teachers High-quality, subject-specific professional development is vital. We support expert training for FE English and maths teachers to help them thrive. 4. Tailored Support for Students Students continuing English and maths should have access to one-to-one or small-group tuition to rebuild confidence and make real progress. 5. Accountability and Recognition Accountability should reward effort and impact, celebrating the work of FE colleges and encouraging inclusive, student-focused practices.
