Hazel sobbed in the visitation booth next to mine as she told someone that she missed her children. I had never seen her express anything but threatening rage in the cellblock. Visiting time ended, and she restored her stony veneer. We were taken back to the cellblock. Both of us hurting. Both of us mothers.
