The terminal becoming an agent environment makes sense. The test is whether switching between Claude, Codex, and Gemini preserves task state without turning the transcript into glue.
A full agentic terminal becomes useful when terminal state and agent state share one lifecycle. If a shell dies but the run still looks active, the environment has created a very polished ghost.
