There was a dream in a dark place that spoke so loud a universe followed in its wake. You never really thought to think of it, back when you and your friends were just playing games. Too many dogs, too many clowns, and too many combinations thereof to allow for much in the way of real self-reflection. Right up until the moment you won, your fingertips grasping the doorhandle to a brand new universe, fun and fear were the only emotions you knew how to process. Six years have passed since you and your friends walked through that door to become the Gods of this new world, built on the cratered husk of your old one. You seeded it with life, span it round for thousands of years in the blink of an eye, and returned to find a chimeric comingling of cultures eager for your preordained descent from the heavens. The humans of old Earth; the trolls of long-dead Alternia; the carapacians of knowledgeable Skaia; the consorts from the Lands of the Heroes. In a word: Earthlings. It was a fresh start, a chance to make something better free from the burdens of the past. A beautiful dream full of light and hope. With all the hubris of any proper God from ancient myth, you truly believed you'd left everything else behind. That nothing from before the door followed you back, except perhaps the memories you kept far away from the history books. You would like to say that Earth C had become the peaceful and happy place it was supposed to be, but the fact is that you just don't know. You'd have to leave your house for that.
