“Why was there a fucking wolf in the truck?”
Sanger Hill, New York
Pete was on the deck having a beer with
Eddy Sanger, his ex-best friend who had fucked
his ex-wife June while they were still married,
married her himself, and had been divorced from
her a couple years already. They were both old
men now. Eddy was trying to give him a wolf.
“Grigsby is more like a dog than a wolf.
She likes playing fetch, she likes to go for rides
in the car and stick her snout out the window.
She’s just like a normal dog,” Eddy explained. He
was coughing a lot and was pretty shaky. “Look
how well she gets along with the twins.” Todd and
Amanda, Pete’s fourteen year old grandkids, were
chasing the wolf around in the yard. They’d
known Grigsby since she was a wolfpup at
Grandma June’s but hadn’t seen her in a while.
