This Saturday we are trying something different--we are hosting a pop-up by Geoffrey's Comics in front of our store in Torrance! Geoffrey Jr. is bringing tables and tables of long boxes full of bargain-priced comics and trades. When I was young and collecting comic books, I would search through long boxes at comic book stores and comic conventions with great regularity. It was such a part of my youth that I still feel the urge now and then. It is a great nostalgic feeling—as well as a moment of zen when I can forget all about the cares of the world. Every few months, I get the urge to dig through comic book long boxes. I call it an itch. And I will go to The Comic Bug or House of Secrets or Near Mint Sundays or the San Fernando Valley Comic Con and satisfy the itch. Geoffrey's Comics was an institution in Torrance for decades before closing their doors a few years ago as a result of the last pandemic. When I had a fun time at Geoffrey’s pop-up last fall, I invited him to set up in front of our store. If you enjoy flipping through long boxes, come out and satisfy that itch!
