I'm Australian, so I don't get a vote in Chicago, but I'd like to see it made illegal to resell tickets for more than the original price

Now stop the scalpers. No private party sales. Buyer must be present to use tix. Can't make it to the concert? Return the tix for a refund so they can be sold at face value to another fan. I had to buy tickets recently at a 300% markup, after being locked out when they went on sale. Infuriating.

The price gouging is the problem. The price is shown with fees now but artificially inflated. Ticketmaster and Live Nation cannot be the same company.
So I have a bigger problem that my Dad wants to race segregate our neighborhood to keep out Blacks and Latin people and my Syrian girlfriend. That just seems like a bigger more socially relevant problem to me than concert prices. Segregation is so 1860 and my Syrian friend has rights. #CivilRights

Have you seen the fees added on to utility bills? The fees can cost more than the actual utility use. I dont think this just the case in one state.
How about banning social media bots. They do far more damage.

While you’re at it… why don’t price tags say the total price to be paid? Put tax in the advertised price on the shelf - I shouldn’t be surprised at all by the total, and I shouldn’t need a calculator to figure out the exact change. Thats still dishonest, even if there is an asterisk hidden somewhere

Go a step further and require stores and websites to add sales tax into the sticker prices of all goods. There is a flat 5% sales tax rate in Japan and they add it to the price you see before you buy the item.

Ticket fees for an electronic transaction are absurd. This is a purchase for (2) tickets and the fees are 35% of the before tax amount. A typical max cc fee is 3.5%. What could you possibly be providing me for the other 31.5%?
Yet, you silence those who protest against ICE, Israeli Governments committing genocide in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, and Iran. Yes, Illinois deserves better such as Free Universal Health Care, Green New Deal, Taxing the Robber Barons, $25+ Minimum Wage, Free Public Education, Housing for All, etc.
