the possibilities of AI have been massively oversold and the costs completely ignored. But in the media jobs are getting wiped out en masse. I did animation at Uni and my more successful colleagues who actually made it, are all feeling it in post production, previz, animation etc.

It's not intelligent...it just collects and reorganises data...it's a con...wall street does this every 10 years or so and everyone chases a bubble and eventually it pops...a few companies will survive and become massive (the new Google and Tesla etc) but thousands will go bust...

I'd ask anyone getting excited about AI, "How is it different to what came before?" It wasn't found under a rock, it's just computer programs - complex ones, but still just programs. So where before you griped about auto chatbots, you'll now stake your wealth, professional pride and life on them.
