I wonder if YouTube even has any desire to comply with Fair use laws. They've made it really easy for corporations to automatically steal the pennies from small to medium creators on their platform.

on one hand, i kinda get it, game award seems like a legal mess. on the other, why's the mario movie claiming copyright? that's straight up a commercial. can't we agree commercials are totally fair use?

It's weird that the governments have all happily foisted messy copyright enforcement onto YouTube, right? If YouTube figures out how to share the revenue across all 7 copyright holders, why not cut in the creator for their part? Thats simple enough that even an 80 year old Senator could understand.

When my Tony Hawk Proskater video was hit like this, it looked very similar, except for Rage Against the Machine whose claim amounted to, "Hey, we noticed this video had Guerrilla Radio in it. Cool."
