San Jose, Spain. Working on my book again as the sun rose to greet me, revealing all the beauty and tranquility this world has to offer if we just look for it.

Taking a break on my motorcycle journey through Spain while trying to come to grips with survivors guilt, compassion fatigue and moral fatigue. This is the makings of my new book. What happens when you have seen the best and worst of humanity and then have to come home and try to be normal.

Two kids who were the sole survivors of a brutal attack on their family. They walked with other hundreds of kilometers to reach a refugee camp. They were separated somewhere along the journey and found in a forest in Uganda. They carried one small bag and a few treasured photographs of their family.

Bedside in recovery with a little girl who had been shot in the head. She underwent six grueling hours of surgery as I watched on. She is alive today because a stranger intervened and helped get her the care she needed. No one needs to die because they have no money.
