Yasumi Matsuno left the game during its troubled development, the main character shifted from Basch to Vaan and the story just kinda feels like Star Wars.

The basch to vaan thing is a rumor that was debunked! Matsuno confirmed this a few years ago. Rumor started bc of a small translation error in an interview
10 #VIDEOGAMES THAT REVIEWERS WERE WAY TOO KIND TO 4. Grand Theft Auto V GTAV is technically impressive and has lots to do but has one of the most loathsome stories I've ever encountered in a video game. I don't just mean Trevor - everyone in this game (except maybe Franklin) is irredeemable.
Never got that far in the story. After enjoying the turn-based battle system in the series for about 15 years the gambit system told me everything I needed & dreaded to hear about the franchise's future.
