In 2020, Norwegian salmon farms consumed almost 2 million metric tonnes of wild fish to produce just 1.5 million tonnes of farmed salmon. Up to 144,000 of those tonnes came from West Africa - fish that could have fed up to 4 million people.
To be fair, they're not "Norway's salmon farms". They're exclusively owned by Norway's wealthiest with heroin dealer-like ethics and add the opposite of value to Norway generally. And successive Norway governments have backed evil salmon farming interests for years at any cost to Norway. So toxic!
