Olúfẹ́mi O. Táíwò Who are you all? What is the DREAM campaign? Lawrence Wang We met on the campaign to pass the Build Public Renewables Act. That’s where our basis of organizing comes from. That’s where our theory of power comes from. It’s how we won BPRA, how we got socialist lawmakers Sarahana Shrestha and Kristen Gonzalez elected. That experience led to me and Charlie building Greenpill, a comms cooperative for leftist and socialist campaigns, candidates, and causes, and to creating DREAM as a primarily metanarrative and meta-organizing exercise to do two things: One, force the progressive wing of New York politics to coalesce from the very beginning around a single demand — in this case, first, Don’t Rank Eric Adams for Mayor. Then Don’t Rank Eric or Andrew for Mayor. And finally, Don’t Rank Evil Andrew for Mayor.
