On a per capita basis, we have probably never imported less oil (or other energy), and much of it is from the Americas. Now, maybe that's part of your model (Canada stops exporting or something), but in a dire case like that you'd want to incorporate export restrictions and we are net-exporters.

Despite being in the midst of two major oil disruptions right now, gas is $4 a gallon and equities are sitting just below all time highs. (I also think the case for major knock-on effects from overseas markets, companies, etc. is weak.)
