It reads: Ingredients: - 1 lb ground pork - 10-ish green onions, chopped and separated into whites and greens - 1 green bell pepper, diced (would probably have used two but I only had one) - Minced garlic, to taste (I probably used about a tablespoon?) - 1 cup uncooked white rice - 1 cup soy sauce - 1/2 cup brown sugar - 1/4 cup mirin (or apple cider vinegar if you don't have mirin) - 1 tbsp sesame oil (optional) - 2 tbsp butter - Salt, to taste Directions: - Cook the rice as usual. If you're using a pot, this means combine it with two cups of water, bring just to a boil on the stove, then cover and reduce heat to low. Let cook on low for 20 minutes *without touching the lid*, then immediately remove from heat. Keep covered until ready to use. Fluff before serving. - Mix soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, and mirin in a cup or bowl. Set aside. - Add butter to a large pan at med-high heat. Once melted, add bell pepper and salt. Cook, stirring occasionally for about 2 minutes, then add onion whites and a pinch more salt. Continue cooking and stirring until bell peppers and onions are beginning to brown, then add garlic. Cook for about another minute until garlic becomes lightly browned and fragrant. - Add pork to pan (with another dash of salt) and cook, breaking pork up into pieces as it cooks. Cook, stirring occasionally, until pork is browned and cooked through. - Once pork is done, add the soy sauce mixture and bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce hear to med-low and simmer, stirring occasionally, until sauce is thick and dark. - Create a base in each bowl with the rice. Spoon the pork mixture over the rice, then top with onion greens. Serve hot.
