Icelander's don't bother with Spring; they go straight to Sumardagurinn fyrsti! I was in Reykjavik to witness this first Thursday after April 18th in 2024, and I was impressed! The wine bar across the street from our hotel (Odinsve) was packed with suntanning locals enjoying the first day of Summer.

We have something similar in Edmonton, except with yoyoing temperatures. We'll have one week of melting, then a blizzard or a -30 deep freeze that puts us back where we started until about mid April. Meanwhile our west coast relatives are enjoying the cherry blossoms and gardening.
