If you're not clear on why I'm agog at this, it's because a whole host of changes in society, civil rights and communications have made it possible for a previously unprecedented number of people (especially young people) to come out... but I would not expect that to be a LINEAR GROWTH PROCESS
i like how even in this simple line extrapolation graph, the angle of the line gets noticeably just a little bit *steeper* than the slope between what i assume are the real non-predicted data points (2020, 2022)? even the thing it doesn't work like doesn't work that way!
