Teacher | SENDCo | slow runner | I read a lot of sci fi.

I am in the middle of a Star Wars line up, fresh from a 14K run. I am peak sweaty chic, standing proudly next to a squad of Star Wars characters in full Imperial armour. They look ready for battle and maybe mildly confused by my cardio. I am clearly the most excited, because nothing says 'cool adult' like fangirling in running gear next to Stormtroopers in Rawtenstall. 🙈

Betty the school therapy dog (a sandy coloured miniature labradoodle) has assumed her rightful position as Queen of the School Gates - flat out on the pavement, tongue lolling like she’s just run a marathon (she hasn’t). She’s rocking a Union Jack neckerchief and a party hat with the confidence of a dog who knows she’s the main event. Regal and ready for summer.

A small light coloured Miniature Labradoodle with curly hair and floppy ears sitting on rocks in the middle of the moors. The dog (called Betty) has muddy paws from much scampering! Her head is cocked to the side as if to say; “how about some treats?”
A red heart-shaped balloon stuck on a drystone wall on the moors surrounding Rossendale - the only distraction in the green windswept peace of the Lancashire countryside. I only do this cross country run once or twice a year as you need a longer spell of sunny weather to make the trail dry enough and that rare phenomenon must correlate with a higher level of personal fitness. Anyway I was very glad to stop and take a photo. It was sweet and gave me a little boost on my run.

2025 vlog of my running experience so far. Some days it’s snowy, some rainy, some dark - all freezing, but I’m persevering and by default the dog is too (aka my running buddy).
