We are grateful to our local partners and stakeholders for their continued support and engagement.” The Clarion has not been able to substantiate this “continued support”, but the Bishop of Oxford and Imam Monawar Hussain did call the invitation “untimely and divisive”. Jacob Rees-Mogg, a trustee of the Union’s parent charity, suggested in national media that the Union was faced with a policing bill of £80,000: it is already struggling with a deficit of over £350,000."
