Haz @haz.dev · Jan 8 I understand this point, but I also believe there’s real value, as an engineer, in deeply understanding someone else’s abstractions, especially in successful software. At the very least, it will help you build your own abstractions in the future.

It isn’t necessary to become proficient with tailwind to understand the abstraction it provides.
It’s also not 600 classes, it’s like 12-20 patterns at most. He can handle that.
Also, there’s still plenty of fundamental knowledge to learn from non-fundamental software. React? Composition. Redux? Immutability. Redux-Saga? Generators. Tailwind? Colocation, utility-first paradigm. What else?
