Heath Stewart @heaths.dev · 24d Took the Scouts on a 3-day backpacking trip in central Washington. Though a desert, temperatures were decent but very strong winds made for dusty conditions. It’s pretty for a change and was nice but I prefer the Pacific Northwest forests and mountains.

Cle Elum comes from "swift water" in Sahaptin. The water is swift, but it's not the first thing I'd notice living here. It's the WINDS! It started in May and basically it's been windy ever since. Good thing it's not a chilling wind anymore, at least. Majestic power of nature!
We drove from Spokane to Ellensburg a few days ago and it was WIMDY AS HECK.
