HEEM://idk @heem.sh · Jun 20 I notice it more with one piece cause it's one of the big differences between Viz's digital chapters vs their volume releases Personally I like having them lettered because if the sfx is like little text under the panel I'm 99% just not gonna read it. Like Berserk just puts it in a tiny box

actually, reading a lot of manga like this is probably part of why i don’t notice sfx. even when it’s front and center like that I’m still not registering the sound cause idk what those characters are meant to sound like. I do still kinda prefer the tiny box to redoing the whole effect tho I think
Though now that I'm able to read kana it's kinda fun to have both because now I'll read a SFX and it'll say some shit like "dubyaaa!" and I'm like what the fuck does that mean and then I learn something from the translation
