A Swan on the water it's neck and head is turned to the right, you can see the shadow of the beak against it's body. This coot certainly had the determination to carry this large long piece of nesting material I think is part of a reed or a very long thin branch. In the right of the photo is a Swan. The coot has black feathers the Swan has white feathers. Photo posted for #PhotoOfTheDay Alt theme #Determination

An Autumn walk through the trees. The sun is shining but due to the trees part of the part is in shade another part has sun and shadow on it created by the trees. Although Autumn the trees still have a lot of green leaves as they are only just starting to turn. There is fallen leaves of browns and reds and general autumn colours on the ground and on the path. Two mandarin ducks a male and female stood on a branch in a pond. The female is a drab brown colour. The male is very colourful orange feathers on their ruff a purple plume a white flash around the black eye the male's head it's bent forward because it is preening. There is a reflection of the birds the male more than the female as my photography skills are still at beginner level! Photo posted for #ThrowbackThursday
A group of ducks flocking to where some food has just been thrown. There is a mix of male and female mallard ducks. The females have all brown feathers, the male have a mixture of brown and white and teal coloured heads. Some of them are only just started to get their head colour show through. There is also some of the ducks with their beaks open

A mandarin duck in the lake. It is moving towards the left. You can see it's reflection in the water, ripples in the water behind it as it's moving and green leaves in the water in the background from something that is growing in the water. The duck is male so has many colours a red bill, white-striped face with orange "whiskers," a purple chest with white bars, pale orange flanks, and distinctive large, orange, sail-like feathers on its back. As the duck is pointing to the left you can see it's right hand side as you look at it

A Swan on the water preening. The Swan is facing with it's back end facing the camera. It's neck is turned to the right. It is preening it's feathers but you can't see the face or beak of the Swan as the breeze has blowen up some of the feathers and they are blocking you seeing that part of the Swan. A coot preening you can see the black body and head of the coot. The coot has it's beak buried in it's feathers as it's preening but you can see the white shield that is above it's beak. A feral pigeon stood on the driveway. Photo taken through a window. The pigeon has many different coloured feathers starting with a short grey tail with some longer white feathers over the top. You then come to the wing feathers that are black with some specked grey bits near the shoulder of the bird. There is then a turquoise coloured neck and a dark grey head. You can also see the beak and one eye

A male mandarin duck on the water it has a bright red beak, a white splash of colour around it's black eye, orange feathers down the side of it's face, a red plume of colour on it's head. It also has brown feathers and some purple in places. There is big piece of dead branch in the bottom left of the photo and you can see part of some branches in the water about half way up on the right hand side
The blue tit is stood at angle on the peanut feeder. The blue tit has a blue head, a white face, a yellow breast and a blue tail. As it's at an angle you can see one of it's black eyes clearly. The peanut feeder has has a red base and is part full of peanuts
A magpie stood on our driveway the driveway is grey tarmac. The magpie has grey legs,white underside and on either side of it's body, it has black head and back. Part of it's front feathers are also black. It has a shortish stubby tail which has hints of blue, black, and green in it. There is a small blue flash of feathers on it's back near the base of the tail
Most of the photo is of water. From the top right you can see part of a Swan's neck as it reaches down to get a drink. It's beak is on the water and where it is drinking it is creating ripples on the water

A concrete post with a magpie stood on it. The magpie is leaning forward and looking as if it is waiting to be to go for a start of a race. It's spotted some food and I think was about to fly down to the ground to get it. The concrete post is grey the you can see the thin black legs of the magpie. Because of how the magpie is standing you have a clear view of it's back from it's black beak, head and back. You can also see the white underneath feathers on the left hand side plus the white flash of white feathers to the left hand side on the back. Behind that you can see the flash of blue/purple feathers it has just before you get to it's black tail
A mandarin duck stood on a thick branch in the pond. The mandarin duck is a male so very colourful. It has orange/brown tail feathers and wings. A white front. With blues and purple feathers in other areas of it's body
A young male mandarin duck at the moment it is mainly brown though you can see where the coloured plume will be as at present it is a darker brown to the other feathers on it's head
A grey tabby cat with grey fur and black stripes you can see her head and shoulders at the to left of the photo. She is laying on a brown weathered bench her ears are alert her eyes are closed either side of her face are two green stems of flowers. The flowers haven't come out yet. Her chin is resting on the bench and so her mouth and nose are over the edge of the bench. This is a side on photo you can see her white whiskers on one side resting on the bench and also one paw slightly stretched out but tightly against her body. The background is all green because it is grass
