Also hilarious that this article uses Clair Obscur as an example of 'ditching the cast of teenagers' when it went out of its way to have a teen in its main cast, despite the story literally being about an expedition of 33-year olds.

Every take is so bad. The dialog is legitimately better than a ton of Japanese games due to not having to make such a language jump. But then people start talking about how its not Anime despite Andy Serkis's character doing Sephiroth shit the second he shows up on screen.

I love me some "classic" JRPGs though I get dissonance since the ages are all stated much younger while their mannerisms are very off for the stated age/occupation.

We could blame this on Adult Swim for airing shounen anime on their timeslots because it causes people to think anime meant for teens are for adults. Also, don't some shounen have adults as the main character?

Absolutely agree, though not to say those stories cant still have value. Persona 3 still has one of my favorite casts and stories in a game ever, since the core story and message is relatable no matter what your age: "live each day with meaning, even in the face of death"
