A work in progress oil painting of a seven Borzoi bringing down a wolf. The painting is inspired by historical accounts of the Perchino kennel (the Borzoi kennel owned by the Czar) and its famed wolf hunts. While Borzoi are often called "Russian Wolfhounds", the wolf hunts were pageantry. These hounds were normally used on small game, like hare and fox
