Seems also relevant to what we in the educational arena used to call intrinsic motivation. Once a student learns or feels the internal reward of correctly solving a problem, they are motivated to do so again.

In a placebo group (n=19)🔵, we found that effort promotes a 'positivity bias' during reward learning. We have seen this effect previously: exerting more effort appears to boost positive RPEs✅ and blunt negative RPEs❌. @sfnjournals.bsky.social www.jneurosci.org/content/42/4... 2/5
