Hi Jen, I was out on a walk when I saw this update so l popped over, wanting to document a win here. Unfortunately I sat through two light cycles without a pedestrian signal to cross Cherokee and then experienced the same when I went to cross Gravois, even though I pressed the button each time. I ended up just crossing without a signal. I recorded the experiences in hopes it could assist with troubleshooting. POLICE O'Fallon Missouri Police Department За • С STATEMENT ON NIGHTTIME RANGE NOISE Dear community members, We know that many of you heard activity from the outdoor police gun range during the training earlier this week. This was the first night shoot since sound baffling was installed over the winter as we promised. The current range was built to replace the former range located just east of the water treatment plant on Firma Rd., which had become outdated and unsafe. This new facility is located approximately 700 yards north of the previous range site and was designed to provide a safer, more modern training environment for law enforcement agencies. The sound levels from this new facility are similar to what was heard from the Firma Rd. location. Night fire training for law enforcement agencies is a recognized and necessary component of firearms training. A significant percentage of officer-involved shootings occur during diminished light conditions, making low-light and nighttime training essential for officer preparedness and public safety. As you may remember, last summer, as the range was still under construction, the City committed to not allowing any shooting at the range after 6 p. m. until sound baffling was installed. The baffling is now complete and is working as promised.
