In actuality it is a screenshot from the YouTube video "Obscure Facts About Every Track in Mario Kart Wii" by Rerim, showing a glitch where Diddy Kong goes out of bounds, that has had the Ash Lake text laid on top of it. The joke is referring to how the distant trees on the Mario Kart Wii level, when viewed from out of bounds, look like the trees that can be seen in the distance on the Ash Lake area of Dark Souls.

In Dark Souls it's sometimes postulated that that multiple trees represent multiple worlds. Elden Ring evokes a lot of the same imagery, especially in the Elden Beast fight. Are their multiple parallel Mario Kart Wii worlds? Is there an MK Beast? Is Lakitu the feathered baby dragon we meet in Ash Lake?
