La frase es de Jayati Gosh, economista nacida en India, que enseña en la Universidad de Massachusetts Amherst y co preside la Comisión Independiente para la Reforma de la Fiscalidad Corporativa Internacional (ICRICT, por sus siglas en inglés), una coalición de organizaciones que plantea que "en este momento de la historia, existe una necesidad urgente y una oportunidad sin precedentes para llevar a cabo una reforma significativa del sistema internacional de tributación corporativa". Gosh enseñó durante 35 años en Universidad Jawaharlal Nehru de Nueva Delhi y su nombre se lee en una veintena de libros y dos centenares de artículos académicos sobre teorías alternativas de desarrollo económico, finanzas internacionales, patrones de empleo y macroeconomía, todo con perspectiva de género. Sus ideas desarman el ideario que aplica el presidente Javier Milei como único camino hacia el desarrollo. Más bien, afirma Gosh, es "obsceno y necio" que no se cobren impuestos a las empresas que hagan inversiones en petróleo y minería, incluidos los derechos de exportación; que es falso que eso expulse inversiones porque "el petróleo y los minerales no se van a ir a ningún lado" y "el capital va adonde va a obtener ganancia, sea porque necesitan esas cosas, esos productos, esos minerales, lo que sea, o porque puede aprovechar el mercado interno. El capital no viene por las exenciones impositivas".
