On the corner of the monastery building - a closer look at the spot in the image in the previous post - a woman stands in front of a tourist information sign about the church complex. For about two weeks a year, a carpet of purple-blue flowers (I believe, Sybirian squill) and their green shoots covers a small, sun-lit yard in front of a residential building. Two and a half grated windows in the background.

It reads: "The Metula Local Council shares in the grief of members of the Christian community over the death of the Maronie priest Pierre al-Rai from the village of Qlaya in southern Lebanon.
