You might want to fix those outdated systems.” The tech lead froze. That subdomain wasn’t public. It wasn’t linked anywhere. It wasn’t even supposed to exist outside the internal network. Yet someone found it. No breach. No stolen login. No website defaced. So how did a complete outsider find something the team believed was invisible? The answer was simple. It came from the domain name.
