Google Photos needs a way to keep a 1-to-1 backup on a personal hard drive. And Takeout ain't it. I use rclone to accomplish this but... I regularly hit random rate limits on Google's side. P.S. I love rclone (thanks @njcw.bsky.social) for making it possible for me to keep a backup despite Google.
