Ify Nwadiwe @ifycomedy.com · Feb 3 The thing that caught my eye was this move to incorporate Target shopping into ChatGPT to which made me look up how many active users it has and this was pretty harrowing. All of the obvious aversions aside, I think the most alarming thing about this is how often AI gets it wrong.

I think the numbers are questionable. I'd like to see how many voluntary users there are versus how many are counted as users because it's shoved into everything now.
Wait. 1 million users per 5 days, but 12,500,000,000 prompts per 5 days? The average ChatGPT user makes *12,500 prompts per day?*
So they are doubling down (tripling at this point?) on never earning back the customers who have boycotted due to the ending of DEI?
I think everyone who uses AI should ask it something they already know a definitive answer to; and see how [not] accurate it is. For example, my sister got an AI overview of a study that claimed the oppsite of the study result was true. Which she knew, because she was the author of the study 🙃
Friends of mine use it for **everything**. And take what it says as gospel. If we're ever hanging and i ponder something, they say "oh let me just ask ChatGPT" and I shudder. And they're intelligent people too. And they can't comprehend why I never, ever use it. It's actually terrifying.

Something that’s really shaken me is how aggressively powers at play try making it, I mean I wa listening to NPR awhile back and 1A was running a story featuring teachers and about half on the panel were pro AI relating it to “well people thought calculators were evil too” which ok yeah however-
I'm not going to pretend like I don't understand why people are drawn to a magical program that makes you feel like you have talent, but I think the lack of base discernment in today's society combined with the CEOs that can tinker with the AI. Just doesn't seem like a good recipe here.
