🇺🇸🇵🇸 “If they can do this to an American congressman, what can they do to Palestinians?” Rep. Ro Khanna (CA-17) was detained for over an hour near Khirbet Zanuta in the occupied West Bank after armed settlers carrying American-made M4 rifles surrounded his van. Khanna said the IDF soldiers who arrived knew an American congressman was in the vehicle and still sided with the settlers rather than helping. Khanna’s group was only released after the U.S. Embassy intervened. During his days in the West Bank, including Hebron, Bethlehem, Beit Sahour, and Turmus Ayya, Khanna says he witnessed a “culture of impunity.” He visited the school in Al-Mughayyir, where a 14-year-old boy and a 32-year-old man were killed by settler gunfire earlier this year, and met with Palestinian American families who’ve lost children to Israeli military and settler violence, including the family of Mohammed Zaher Ibrahim, a 16-year-old American citizen from Florida who was held in Israeli prison for over nine months without trial and returned home starving. It was an honor to meet with @Isaac_Herzog in Jerusalem today. I've known him for many years, and he is a good man of principle who deeply values the alliance between Israel and the United States. Neither security nor peace can be built on the recriminations or repeated failures of the past. That approach has failed both Israelis and Palestinians alike. The Arab world's desire for regional stability, Israel's need for security, and the Palestinian people's desire for self-determination can be brought together in a historic agreement. That is the path forward, one that respects the aspirations and interests of all sides, with responsibility required by all sides.

Tomorrow, I will force another vote to end U.S. participation in the Israeli apartheid regime's campaign of ethnic cleansing and territorial expansion in Lebanon. Over 4,250 people have been massacred. Twelve children are killed or maimed every day as these U.S.-backed war crimes continue. Congress must vote to end U.S. support for these atrocities and force an end to Israel's invasion and illegal military occupation of Lebanese territory.

Israel denied entry to a delegation from Holy Land Christian Ecumenical Foundation made up of 9 US citizens—in total violation of US visa waiver requirement of reciprocity. The delegation was subjected to "hours of interrogation marked by accusations, humiliation, and threats.
In 2024, 34% of Democrats said that AIPAC's endorsement would make them LESS likely to vote for that candidate. In 2026, that number has skyrocketed to 53%. Only 5% say that AIPAC's endorsement would make them more likely to vote for that candidate.

Democrats must stand firm against these headwinds. Primary voters won't trust any Democratic presidential candidate who does not have a record of moral and strategic clarity on these issues, especially if, as a legislator, he or she voted to send Mr. Netanyahu bombs even as his overnment imposed a total blockade on Gaza. Nor will they support a candidate who plans to re-enlist the senior Democratic decision makers who whitewashed the truth during the Biden administration and refuse to acknowledge their complicity.
