Third Act Movement The Third Act (also known as the Third Act Movement) is a progressive and environmentalist US national organization and movement consisting of people over the age of 60 which focuses on safeguarding the climate and America's democracy.[1][2][3] Since being founded in 2021,[4] the movement organizes protests against companies to force them to reduce fossil fuels and the Trump administration's policies that threaten civil and human rights.[5]

The “2026 Billionaire Tax Act” would tax California residents whose net worth exceeds $1 billion up to 5% of their assets, and those with at least $20 billion in assets as of Jan. 1, 2026, would face a one-time tax of $1 billion. If the proposal was approved, Page would face a tax of roughly $12.8 billion in addition to the $1 billion one-time tax, while Thiel and Palihapitiya would pay about $2.35 billion and $60 million, respectively. The bill was proposed by the healthcare union Service Employees International Union-United Healthcare Workers West, which said the bill could generate up to $100 billion from 200 billionaires in the state. About 90% of these tax revenues would be used for health care, while 10% would fund food assistance and education-related programs. This tax revenue would offset the loss of billions in federal and state funding for California’s healthcare system, the group said.

Which then destabilizes the country farther. It's obvious the right traditionalist wing has seeded the entire Iranian government, and that mass dissent has given huge levers of influence to Israel. I think like 1% of the country is willing to collaborate with Israel and that is a wild and terrifying number. Incredibly high. I think ultimately this is the way that an unnuaunced analysis of Iran as a bastion of anti-American imperialism fails us as Iranians and everyone the IR claims to protect. Just like how AIPAC shoots for Bowman and not Ilhan Omar, a weak progressive is doomed to fail. Iran failed to maintain the majority support needed to sustain itself against the combined forces of Capital, because it was not interested in doing so. Because it wasn't never a progressive regime. So now you have a bunch of religious guys with no experience just chilling in the seppa and military, no defense from Russia/China, and two allied fascists nipping at the heels. We are just as fucked as we've always known we are.
