Found a copy of the 1977 Holmes Basic D&D rules at NW's Largest Garage Sale. So well loved they colored in the art and added their own items to the equipment list! Love this so much. #odnd #adnd #dnd #osr

I love stumbling on things with that kind of embellishment in them! We weren't afraid at all to color/write in these back in the day: Much more like Cookbooks, where the stains/spills represent that it was *being used* than anything precious or collectable!

In the Holmes rulebook, "Horse Bow (Short Composite Bow)" is included in the range table in the Missile Fire section (being copied over from the Greyhawk supplement), but not otherwise mentioned in the rules, so you can see where they got the idea to add that.
