The ABC has published a picture of alleged serial sexual predator Hamish Tait wearing a shirt with Aboriginal designs beside a fire pit. This image is largely unrelated to the story of police releasing images of children's clothing. The picture implies that Hamish Tait is an Aboriginal man with cultural authority to perform smoking ceremony.
Much further down the page, in one short paragraph, the ABC reproduces a quote from the now-defunct website of the suspected sexual predator. It reads "Mr Tait previously advertised on his now-closed business website that he had "spent a lot of time in remote Indigenous communities both teaching and learning from the people of the land''
The ABC should be aware that this is a typical example of a white person exploiting Aboriginal communities and their knowledges. It makes the person MORE likely to be white, in the absence of verified facts about his ethnicity, which again is irrelevant to the story about police releasing images of children's clothing.
The choice and placement of image is extremely racist and should be removed immediately.

Mr Tait previously advertised on his now-closed business website that he had "spent a lot of time in remote Indigenous communities both teaching and learning from the people and the land".

If we show it—if we work for it—then we can reclaim the Australia we remember and love and, in so doing, provide some comfort for all those who have lost so much. That is the choice before us today.

The federal court justice Graeme Hill handed down his findings on Friday, saying workplace protections were not extended to Jayson Gillham due to his status as an independent contractor.

NSW Premier Chris Minns also addressed the memorial in Sydney, declaring the Jewish community had reclaimed the famous landmark.
"Just as you reclaim Bondi Beach, tonight, you have taken back the Opera House as well," he said.
In his address, Mr Minns also told the Jewish community "you are not alone as you mourn", and paid tribute to police, surf lifesavers and paramedics who rushed to the scene of the attack at Bondi.

However, last month Professor Craven delayed the report cards after he found not a single university had adopted an enforceable definition of antisemitism.

The taskforce said it was considering further ideas from across the education sector on teacher professional development, student safety and changes to regulation and funding.
