I think if you’re genuinely interested it will be a different experience for you than TikTok & Instagram/Threads. Both TikTok & Meta built algorithms that push a lot of health *information* AND *disinformation* into people’s feeds. The public benefits from you being in those algo/insecurity-driven spaces with good info, but you also benefit from them being tuned to a disinfo hungry mainstream audience. Your Bluesky approach will have to be different: 2/2 On Bluesky focus on it being *closer* to a community of peers. My little account on Heat Pumps has as many followers as you because I was included in a Starter Pack of experts *by* a fellow expert. So find the other allergists & health information advocates you admire. Create and promote a starter pack. Discuss papers with researchers on the platform. Be the expert you are with fellow experts and the mainstream will follow behind. A new social media muscle for you but the world will benefit!

Perhaps the simplest conception of the work of a refrigerating plant is obtained by thinking of it as a heat pump, abstracting heat from a cold body, such as brine, or direct from milk or other liquid food, and pumping it to a warm body, which is the condensing water in a refrigerating plant. Heat is not itself a substance, and its transference from th cooled liquid to the warmer condensing water is effected by doing work on a liquefiable vapour such as that of ammonia, carbon-dioxide, or sulphur-dioxide. This work takes the form of compressing the vapour from a low temperature and pressure to a higher pressure and temperature. At the higher temperature it is condensed or liquefied just as steam is in an engine surface-con denser, the heat of liquefaction being removed dv tne condensing water. Indeed, a refriger ating plant is practically and theoretically liko a reversed steam engine.
