Youn queers who say "I don't consent to be part of your kink" don't realize that that was the ACTUAL legal justification for arresting trans women and cross dressers until the 1980s. Unless someone is performing a public sex act, you don't get to consent to how I dress. Ever.
The purpose of Pride is to find safety in numbers and put pressure on social/political barriers with visibility and protest. The reason it isn’t “family-friendly” is because you believed we did not belong in your families. “Family-friendly” has become an anti-gay dog whistle.
