"It wasn't my intention to be ambiguous; I thought I wrote clearly how got to the final translation in the game. C'est la vie. So, trying my best to not be ambiguous, bear with me: the playtesting translation that I mentioned was developed with DeepL/CGPT. That playtesting translation certainly helped get ahead in testing a complex RPG with many different branching paths and outcomes. From that playtesting translation, human translators took over, combed through every line and either scrapped it, re-wrote it, and/or naturalized it to the point that nothing of the original playtesting translation remains. I think there is an impression that we took the main binary and dropped it into ChatGPT and out spit out a translation. This simply isn't true. A lot of time, effort, and research went into each and every line you see in the game. Still, I know some folks are disappointed by this. AI is controversial, and I preferred to lean towards transparency, knowing that some people just don't want anything to do with AI. Which is why if you are not happy with this translation, the best I can offer is that the team put out the tools so others can develop another translation. And guess what...I'll be happy to play that one, too!"
