I don't expect my videos to blow up or whatever but I'd like to think that at least MOST of my subscribers would see it. Even my lower-performing videos don't flatten out like this (the gray area shows my typical range). I got tons of likes and really nice comments too so it just seems strange :<

Mm, I'm sorry about that :< I know the feeling, especially when it's something you put weeks or months of work into. It's an epic animation and the message is very sweet and hopeful
YouTube values viewer retention over all else. I truly think it was the promotion at the end being the majority of the video. Everyone tapped out halfway through so YouTube thought it was performing poorly. If you re-release as just the animation with just a few seconds of outro it'll perform.
I don't blame you, a small part of me feels the same way when I put out an artwork that I put a lot of time and heart into. Its so messed up how ingrained this is in the human condition 😭 I discovered your channel a few months ago and your videos really speak to me, and you as a person do too!

It might be the thumbnail..? I’ve seen this a few times and just thought it was a kirby air riders video or something (I dont think I’ve seen or paid attention to the title until now), and the character is just some random dog? Not telling you to change it or anything; just offering my perspective.
I watched the video, but I watched it here on Bluesky and then glossed over it when I saw it pop up in my Youtube feed. Is it possible it was watched more than you know but not through Youtube?
