S South Carolina Democratic Party Chair Christale Spain Slams Supreme Court Decision Gutting the Voting Rights Act and Opening Door to Racially-Based Redistricting Republicans now have the power to attack majority-minority districts in South Carolina Today, in its decision in Louisiana v. Callais, the Supreme Court struck down the remaining sections of the landmark Voting Rights Act of 1965 designed to protect the voting power of communities of color. With this ruling, the Court has turned its back on decades of precedent to undercut the voting power of Black, Latino, and other minority communities in South Carolina. Donald Trump made this happen. Back in September, his DOJ asked the Court to allow Republican legislators to weaken, or in some cases eliminate, minority voters' right to elect candidates who represent them. Trump and his GOP know they stand a chance in the midterms amid their cratering approval ratings, which is why they're plotting to dilute the voting power of minority voters. Make no mistake: The South Carolina Democratic Party will fight tooth and nail against Republican attempts to suppress minority representation in South Carolina.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 29, 2026 Memphis Police Department Uses Violence Against Peaceful Protesters at "No Kings Day" March Memphis, Tenn. - On March 28, 2026, thousands of residents from across the Greater Memphis area gathered at Robert R. Church Park for the third No Kings Day protest. This was a peaceful gathering that brought together community members, organizers, and elected officials to speak out against the Trump regime, including the Memphis [Un]Safe Task Force that has devastated Memphis. Following remarks from speakers, participants proceeded on a peaceful march along a pre-planned route: down Beale Street, along South Second Street, and onto Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, ultimately returning to Robert R. Church Park as planned. At no point was there a threat to public safety or a need for police intervention. As the march neared its conclusion, dozens of Memphis Police Department vehicles drove toward the rear of the procession. Officers approached on foot in an aggressive and confrontational manner, issuing threats toward individuals who were peacefully protesting. Event organizers immediately engaged with officers and clearly communicated that the march was concluding at the park, consistent with the planned route. Despite this communication-and with the march approximately 50 feet from its endpoint-MPD officers inexplicably escalated to violence. Approximately two dozen officers tackled, beat, maced, and arrested peaceful participants. Among those specifically targeted were several safety marshals-volunteers tasked with maintaining order and ensuring participant safety. When Tennessee State Representative Justin J. Pearson stepped forward in an effort to de-escalate the situation and prevent further violence by police, he was violently shoved by an MPD officer. Officers continued to threaten arrests and deploy mace into a crowd. Despite this extreme escalation, the crowd remained peaceful throughout. 1 of 4

Mr. Chairman, Ranking Member, Members of the Committee ... as a former Senator, I have respect for legislative oversight and I expect its exercise, as do the American people, to be principled and fearless in pursuit of truth and accountability. As we all know, however, too often Congressional investigations are partisan political theater, which is an abdication of duty and an insult to the American people. The Committee justified its subpoena to me based on its assumption that I have information regarding the investigations into the criminal activities of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Let me be as clear as I can. I do not. As I stated in my sworn declaration on January 13, I had no idea about their criminal activities. I do not recall ever encountering Mr. Epstein. I never flew on his plane or visited his island, homes or offices. I have nothing to add to that. Like every decent person, I have been horrified by what we have learned about their crimes. It's unfathomable that Mr. Epstein initially got a slap on the wrist in 2008, which allowed him to continue his predatory practices for another decade. Mr. Chairman, your investigation is supposed to be assessing the federal government's handling of the investigations and prosecutions of Epstein and his crimes. You subpoenaed eight law enforcement officials, all of whom ran the Department of Justice or directed the FBI when Epstein's crimes were investigated and prosecuted. Of those eight, only one appeared before the Committee. Five of the six former attorneys general were allowed to submit brief statements stating they had no information to provide. You have held zero public hearings, refused to allow the media to attend them, including today, despite espousing the need for transparency on dozens of occasions. You have made little effort to call the people who show up most prominently in the Epstein files. And when you did, not a single Republican Member showed up for Les Wexner's deposition.

On another State, on November 20th, Mr. Trump calls Republican legislators from Michigan to the White House and urged them to remove the Biden electors and replace them with electors that would elect Trump. They subsequent to that made a statement that there was no evidence for that and went back, and the electors were certified as the votes had indicated they should be. Subsequent to that, in December, there was an effort to create fake electors, and, in fact, on December 14th, when the electoral colleges meet in all the State legislatures, there were 16 fake electors in the basement in Michigan and four of them tried to get into the Capitol to overturn the election. Did you look at that whole phenomena? The Witness. We did. Ms. Lofgren. And what was your conclusion? What was the -- how would that have played, if at all, in your prosecution?

And in the report, you say that Mr. Trump -- and this is a quote -- "knowingly made false claims." So I'm assuming that talked about the false claims he made after he knew that he had lost the election. Can you describe or summarize some of these false claims he made to the American public after he knew that he had lost the election? Sure. These would be false claims about dead voters. It would be false claims about underage voters. It would be false claims about illegal alien voters. The false claims were generally, as a general matter, about urban centers where he had lost the vote in a particular State that was otherwise close by a lot. And -- yes. And, again, these were claims that were rebutted by people around him who knew that they were false and in many cases told him they were false. Ms. Lofgren. Can I go to January 6th itself? The President gave a speech on the rally, and we received information, testimony, that -- a couple of things. That his supporters were leaving their weapons outside the magnetometers because they wouldn't -- they couldn't go through; and also that at some point Mr. Trump said, "Let them come through anyhow, because they're not going to hurt me." It was subsequent to that knowledge that some of these supporters were armed that he called on them to go to the Capitol. Was that set of facts subject to your investigation and review? The Witness. I recall what you're talking about. I remember we interviewed different people who were near -- we interviewed people who were near or around President Trump in that period of time before the Ellipse speech. And on that point, there were different recollections and different points of view.

And so, you know, just off the top of my head, an example is, there was -- he In your report, you say -- and this is a quote -- "The through line of all of Mr. Trump's criminal efforts was deceit -- knowingly false claims of fraud." Can you generally describe some of these knowingly false claims of fraud that were spread after the 2020 election? Sure. There is a number of them. And, you know, part of the explanation is -- is why they're false. Q A was on notice in this election that, in Pennsylvania, for example, that he would be ahead in the vote count for a period of time, and then when the mail-in ballots were counted, his lead would dissipate. He chose to represent that phenomenon that he'd been briefed on, that was normal course of an election, that all sides knew that that's how it was going to be, he chose to present that as evidence of fraud. And to people who are not maybe as informed as him or informed as his campaign managers who told him these things, that's the sort of thing that creates distrust. There were fraud claims in, you know, Michigan, Georgia, where he was specifically disabused by people he trusted, by political allies, by the people, when he chose to call them, who were best situated to know. In Georgia, I'm thinking of the secretary of state. He reflexively rejected those things and continued to state false things after he'd been told repeatedly that they weren't true.

The tax credit is going away but your policy is not. I checked my policy on AZBCBS. We were scheduled to be billed $2700 January 1 for our new premium, (what used to be $600). I cancelled the auto payment on that site, but after a phone call, I discovered the policy was not cancelled, nor could I cancel it on the AZBCBS site. I had to call the marketplace directly to actually cancel the policy. The marketplace phone number is 800-318-2596. Good luck every one.

While the President may issue a national order, governors and local officials also have full authority to lower flags within their jurisdictions. When a service member is killed on American soil while performing official duties, it is common and expected for federal or state leaders to issue a half-staff proclamation. That's why it's unusual-and troubling-that none has been issued for Specialist Sarah Beckstrom. Her death in service to this nation deserves public recognition. Lowering the flag is a simple but powerful gesture of respect, and when the federal government does not act, state and local leaders must. I settled 8 Wars, have 48 New Stock Market Highs, our Economy is Great, and our Country is RESPECTED AGAIN all over the World, respected like never before. The last Administration had the Highest Inflation in history - I have already brought that down to normal, and prices, including groceries, are coming down. To do this requires a lot of Work and Energy, and I have never worked so hard in my life. Yet despite all of this the Radical Left Lunatics in the soon to fold New York Times did a hit piece on me that I am perhaps losing my Energy, despite facts that show the exact opposite. They know this is wrong, as is almost every thing that they write about me, including election results, ALL PURPOSELY NEGATIVE. This cheap "RAG" is truly an "ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE." The writer of the story, Katie Rogers, who is assigned to write only bad things about me, is a third rate reporter who is ugly, both inside and out. Despite all of this, I have my highest Poll Numbers, ever, and with record setting investment being made in America, they should only go up. MTG's four-page note was stinging for House Republicans. Why? Because the message rang true to so many in the House GOP. In fact, a few other GOP members messaged us over the weekend saying that they, too, are considering retiring in the middle of the term. Here's one particularly exercised senior House Republican: "This entire White House team has treated ALL members like garbage. ALL. And Mike Johnson has let it happen because he wanted it to happen. That is the sentiment of nearly all - appropriators, authorizers, hawks, doves, rank and file. The arrogance of this White House team is off putting to members who are run roughshod and threatened. They don't even allow little wins like announcing small grants or even responding from agencies. Not even the high profile, the regular rank and file random members are more upset than ever. Members know they are going into the minority after the midterms. "More explosive early resignations are coming. It's a tinder box. Morale has never been lower. Mike Johnson will be stripped of his gavel and they will lose the majority before this term is out."
