Did you know the name comes from Welsh, cor and ci or gi, meaning dwarf dog - how cute is that? There's also a note in the Wikipedia that specifically confirms that this name is not intended as an insult to the dog's stature, merely as a descriptive element. I like that people take the time to confirm they are not rude to dogs. It's a herding breed for cattle, known as a heeler because it would nip at the heels of the animals it was herding.
