Excerpt of a segment from Auranova, a sci fi mecha VN that I am currently writing. The segment is as follows. David Dern: “Nearly one hundred years ago, we fought for the glory and beauty of our Mother Earth in the Terran wars against the corporations and the puppet governments that enabled them. Our grandmothers and grandfathers gave their lives selflessly, in the hope that our beautiful planet of water may one day know peace. Those who did not perish in battle faced the agony and despair of watching the corporations bask in victory as they drained the planet past the breaking point, and stalked ever onwards, eager to pollute even the stars! Even so! Those of us who still believed continued to wait, accepting life in space if it meant that our home might have a chance to heal! We swallowed our pride, accepting lifetimes of ignominy in the hope that one day, we might return. Even now, the Earth continues to heal; but humanity has not! How can it, when the depraved hearts of the bourgeoisie grow even deeper, and humanity faces an ever growing cavalcade of horror and oppression? How can we grow and improve under the tyrannical yoke of capitalist fascism? What flower can take root in such wretched soil?! My comrades, my family; listen well! Every planet we reach is dead; the Earth is all we have! We must fight! Fight for a humanity worthy of that beautiful blue marble! Even now, the so called League of Systems is developing weapons of mass genocide, spurred ever onwards by their own fear and hatred! That is the reason for this naval review; so that we might be encouraged by our own might, and soon set off towards that wicked weapon, their so-called ‘Gated Eye’, and destroy it! The colonies will see their masters are not invulnerable and unbeatable, and will claim their own independence! Only when the people are masters of their own fate, will we be able to stand proud, hand in hand with all of humanity!”
