The government this morning insisted the scheme is paid for. They said it will cost more than £500m, £400m of which comes from replacing grants for international climate projects with loans.

Some common knotgrass stems passing through a black wire grate. The stems look a lot like regular tall grass stems, but the leaves aren't so long and thin as grass - more elongated ovals, and fleshier. At each leaf stalk there's a cream-white wrap around the main stem and a few flowers (white) or buds (vivid pink).
