Nevertheless, we find that if a population is already at equilibrium and then experiences demographic changes, those changes don't affect the expected frequency too much. For example, the expected allele frequency after 176 generations of exponential growth is close to the initial frequency.

All in all, we're confident that our main results are not qualitatively (and not strongly quantitatively) affected by non-equilibrium effects.
